When Christ died is was dark for about three hours, but it was no ordinary darkness caused by an eclipse or dust storm. It was a supernatural darkness. The God who established the laws of nature suspended them for three hours and he did so for a purpose. The darkness sent out a powerful message, a powerful message of judgement. The sins of God's people were being laid upon Christ on the cross. An unusual, agonising cry was heard from the cross.

3. A cry which illustrates the saviours love for His people
